On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino, one of the bloodiest battles fought by Allied troops against the forces of the Third Reich during World War II, celebrations are being held on the Main Square with the participation of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. The Minister is announcing the establishment of the 2nd Polish Corps Day. The ceremony is being attended by the army, which is marching through the streets of the city.
