Flower Moon In NYC
The Flower Moon is rising above Long Island City in New York, across the East River, on Thursday, May 23, 2024. May's full moon is also known as the Flower Moon, a term that comes from the blooms appearing in North America around that time. Some peoples, such as the Ojibwe, are calling it something similar, according to the Ontario Native Literacy Coalition - the moon is called Waawaaskone Giizis, the Flower Moon.
