Kami Rita Sherpa Aka Everest Man Gets Heroic Welcome After 30th Summit Of Mount Everest

A relative of Kami Rita Sherpa, also known as the ''Everest Man,'' is hugging him upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, on May 24, 2024, from the Everest region, setting the record for the highest number of ascents by a single person. The 54-year-old Sherpa climber has been scaling mountains for over two decades. His mountaineering journey is beginning in 1992 when he is joining an expedition to Everest as a support staff member. Since then, Kami Rita is fearlessly embarking on numerous expeditions, summiting Everest multiple times. His achievements are extending beyond Everest, as he is also conquering other formidable peaks, including K2, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Manaslu. On Tuesday, Kami Rita is also leading a team of climbers to the top of the world's tallest peak. (Photo by Subaas Shrestha/NurPhoto)
