Die-in Against The General Meeting Of TotalEnergies's Shareholders
A protester is holding a glass of false champagne in protest for the 100 years of the foundation of TotalEnergies. Activists from the coalition 'StopTotal' are making a die-in in Toulouse, France, on May 24, 2024, to protest against the general meeting of shareholders of the French oil company TotalEnergies, one of the 6 'majors'. The IEA is saying, in 2020, that no new oil field or new gas field must be in operation to keep alive the threshold of 1.5?C of global warming. But TotalEnergies (as other oil producers) is having several 'climate bombs' in exploration or exploitation. Activists are wanting to denounce this as the general indifference of governments to contain the global warming under 1.5?C. TotalEnergies is being founded 100 years ago.
