Over 35 People Shot And Over 6 Killed In Chicago Weekend Gun Violence
Two people are being shot, with one person dead, in a shooting in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on June 9, 2024. At approximately 8:32 p.m., Sunday evening, on the 3900 block of W. 31st St., Chicago police are finding a 23-year-old male who is sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The 23-year-old male victim is being transported to the hospital where he is being pronounced dead. The second victim, a 35-year-old male, is sustaining one gunshot wound to the abdomen and is being transported to the hospital in critical condition. A weapon is being recovered on the scene. Preliminary investigation is indicating that the 23-year-old male deceased victim may be exchanging gunfire with an unidentified suspect who is fleeing the scene on foot. There are no suspects in custody. Several evidence markers are being placed at the crime scene.
