Dozens Of Israeli Students Protested In Jerusalem
Dozens of Israeli students protested in Jerusalem today against the policy of silencing dissent implemented by Israeli universities during the ongoing war that Israel is waging against the Gaza Strip. This policy has led to the expulsion of many students and lecturers, the revocation of academic degrees, and the withdrawal of funding from anti-war institutions. The protesters, who gathered in front of the Student Union office near the Knesset, carried signs demanding an end to the war and freedom of expression. They also announced a general strike in education for next Thursday. During the protest, far-right elements attacked the demonstrators by beating them and spraying them with water. The police arrested one of the far-right protesters. (Photo by Saeed Qaq/NurPhoto)
