Sahara Dust
High temperatures and Saharan dust are affecting the weather in Greece. Heavy fog and Saharan dust covered the sky of Kavala, Greece, on April 1, 2024 (issued April 2, 2024). According to the National Observatory of Athens, the atmospheric circulation over Europe will favor the transfer of warm air masses from Africa to the Balkans and Greece, resulting in very high temperatures and the transfer of significant amounts of Saharan dust on April 1-2, 2024.
