Four People Shot In Mass Shooting During Repass Service At Salvation Army Center In South Chicago Suburbs
The FBI is on the scene of the mass shooting at a repass service. Four people are being shot in a mass shooting during a repass service at the Salvation Army Center in Blue Island, Illinois, United States, on June 21, 2024. Four people are being shot when gunmen are opening fire during a service at the Salvation Army Cross Generations Worship & Community Center, at 2900 W. 127th St., for a young woman who was shot and killed earlier in the week. Around 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, a vehicle is pulling up, and multiple gunmen are opening fire in the direction of the building, police say. One person at the service who has a concealed carry permit is returning fire according to officials. The young woman's grandfather says the shots are ringing out in the middle of the service and that he is hearing shots coming from everywhere. In the parking lot of the Salvation Army center on Minnesota Avenue, just off Francisco Avenue, a cluster of evidence markers is being seen on the pavement following the shooting, along with shattered glass in the entryway.
