Pushpa Kamal Dahal- Prachanda Loses Vote Of Confidence As Prime Minister

KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML), is entering the parliamentary meeting hall in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 12, 2024, which is deliberating on the vote of confidence motion tabled by ousted Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Nepali Prime Minister Dahal is failing the vote of confidence and is being ousted from the position. Dahal, who has been in office for over one year and six months, is requiring 138 votes to pass the trust motion but is receiving only 63 votes in his favor. Out of the 275-member House of Representatives, 194 lawmakers are voting against him, while one member is abstaining. A total of 258 lawmakers are present during the meeting.
