Representatives of the Medan Legal Aid Institute (LBH) together with the Journalist Safety Committee (KKJ) are providing press briefings while accompanying Eva Meliana Pasaribu, who is the daughter of the late Rico Sempurna Pasaribu, a journalist who became a victim of premeditated murder after providing evidence and information to the Bukit I Regional Military Police (Pomdam), in Medan City. In this premeditated murder, 4 victims are dying by being burned alive in their homes in the Karo Regency area, North Sumatra. The four murder victims are Rico Sempurna Pasaribu, a journalist for Tribrata TV, Efrida Ginting, wife of Rico Sempurna Pasaribu, Sudiinveseti Pasaribu, and Lowi Situngkir, grandson of Rico Sempurna Pasaribu. Recently, the North Sumatra Regional Police are naming 3 suspects in the premeditated murder, the three suspects being Yunus Syahputra Tarigan, Rudi Apri Sembiring as the executor of the house burner, and Bebas Ginting as the person who gave the order. However, according to the victim's daughter, Eva Meliana Pasaribu, TNI members are suspected of being involved in the death of her family based on the evidence found.
