Panguni Utsavam Festival In Thiruvananthapuram
Giant idols of the Pandavas are being erected along the eastern entrance of the historic Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple during the Panguni Utsavam (Painkuni Utsavam) festival in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala, India, on April 09, 2024. The large idols of the Pandavas are being made of wood and fiberglass and are representing Yudhisthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva. They are being decorated with intricate faces with bulging eyes, colorful headgear, and long tresses and nails. Yudhisthira alone is being installed in the sitting posture with his right leg on his left thigh. Bhima and Arjuna are the tallest, Nakula is medium-sized, and Sahadeva is the smallest.
