Weevil - Entiminae (Broad-nosed Weevil) - Animal India
Weevils are beetles belonging to the superfamily Curculionoidea, known for their elongated snouts. They are usually small, less than 6 mm in length, and herbivorous. This group also includes bark beetles, which, while morphologically dissimilar to other weevils in lacking the distinctive snout, are a subfamily of Curculionidae. Many weevils are considered pests because of their ability to damage and kill crops. An Entiminae (broad-nosed weevil) is being observed on a plant leaf in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on July 28, 2024. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
