The Tanzhai Village section of the first phase of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project is being viewed in Nanyang, China, on August 7, 2024. 2024 is marking the 10th anniversary of the completion of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. By June 2024, the first phase of the East-Central Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion project is transferring more than 72.9 billion cubic meters of water, becoming an important water source for 44 large and medium-sized cities along the route, directly benefiting 176 million people.
