Mehbooba Mufti Urges BJP Government To Resume Cross-LOC Trade In Kashmir
Mehbooba Mufti, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is speaking during a press conference in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on August 09, 2024. Mehbooba Mufti is urging the BJP-led government to resume Cross-Line of Control (LOC) trade between Salamabad in Uri and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). Mufti is stating, ''The closure of trade is severely impacting the livelihoods of those involved in this sector. Moreover, traders are being subjected to raids by the Income Tax department, which is demanding taxes from them despite their inability to generate income since 2019.''
