The Palafoxiana Library
An old book is being exhibited inside the Palafoxiana Library, located in the heart of the Historic Center of Puebla, Mexico, on August 9, 2024. Founded in 1646 by Bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza, it is considered the first public library in America, with its collection of approximately 45,000 books sheltered in cedar shelves.
