Climate Change in Bangladesh.

A woman is sitting inside his flooded home in Gaibandha, bangladesh, 23 August 2014. Climate change in Bangladesh is an extremely crucial issue for last decade. Bangladesh ranks first as the nation most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Bangladesh is located at the bottom of the mighty river system, a total of 57 trans-boundary rivers coming down to it. Adding to this cyclone, tornado, river erosion is a common hazard to the people of Bangladesh. Again, lack of the control of water flow from these rivers is destroying people’s life during monsoon. In the summer, there is scarcity of water due to global warming which have increased 8-10 degree Celsius in last decade. Every year millions of people are getting homeless and migrating to the capital Dhaka for the hope of a better life. Here some are managing their life by working as a day laborer in a unhealthy environment like brick making fields for the sake of money. Whereas, some people finds park, railway station or ferry port as their home being homeless. Resulting, Dhaka have become a city of migrants which is only visible during the Eid feast when thousands of people try to get on the roof of the train to go home. (Photo by Anik Rahman/NurPhoto)
