Jasmine Harvest In Egypt
Farmers are harvesting jasmine flowers in the village of Shubra Baloula in Gharbia Governorate, north of the Nile Delta, in Egypt, on August 11, 2024. Egypt and India are producing about 95 percent of the world's jasmine extracts in perfumes, according to the International Federation of Essential Oils and Perfumes Trade (IFEAT). The village of Shubra Baloula in Gharbia, in the Egyptian fertile delta, is producing more than half of the aromatic extracts used in essential oils to produce jasmine worldwide.
