Weevil - Entiminae (Broad-nosed Weevil) - Animal India
Weevils are beetles belonging to the superfamily Curculionoidea, known for their elongated snouts. They are typically small, usually less than 6 mm in length, and herbivorous. This group also includes bark beetles, which, although morphologically different from other weevils due to their lack of the distinctive snout, are a subfamily of Curculionidae. Many weevils are considered pests because of their ability to damage and kill crops. A pair of Entiminae (broad-nosed weevils) is mating on a wooden window frame in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on 12/08/2024. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
