17-year-old Male Shot Several Times In The Head And Killed In Shooting Near The Democratic National Convention Venue In Chicago Illinois
A 17-year-old male is being shot multiple times in the head and pronounced dead in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on August 14, 2024. At approximately 6:14 p.m., Wednesday evening, on the 3400 block of W. Franklin Blvd., a 17-year-old male victim is standing near the sidewalk when he is approached by an unknown vehicle. Three male suspects are exiting the vehicle. At least one male suspect is showing a firearm and firing shots at the victim. The 17-year-old male victim is sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to the head and is being transported to the hospital initially listed in critical condition and then later is being pronounced dead. There are no suspects in custody. The shooting is occurring nine minutes away from the United Center, which is where the Democratic National Convention will take place.
