Gamberemo, Palio Dei Rioni
A small boat on the Giovinazzo harbour is ready for the race of the evening on the occasion of Gamberemo, Palio dei Rioni in Giovinazzo, Italy, on August 14, 2024. The XXXI edition of the Gamberemo, the Palio dei Rioni di Giovinazzo, is being organised by Touring Juvenatium in honour of Maria SS di Corsignano. It is starting with the parade of the representatives of the five city districts (San Domenico, San Giuseppe, Concattedrale-Centro Storico, Sant'Agostino, Immacolata), followed by the race judges and the Palio, the coveted trophy that is dividing the people of Giovinazzo for one night. The individual teams, made up of 18 athletes, in front of thousands of spectators and fans, are competing in an athletic competition in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and in a regatta in the stretch of sea at Cala Porto to win the coveted lobate stone tile and the Palio to be carried in triumph (Photo by Davide Pischettola/NurPhoto).
