Thai Rice Exports To China Shrink in 2024

Thai rice is on sale at a supermarket in Yichang, China, on September 10, 2024. Thailand's Kaitai Research Center releases a report on September 9 that Thai rice exports to China in 2024 drop from 470,000 tons in 2023 to 460,000 tons, down 2% year-on-year. However, due to the expected 14% year-on-year increase in Thai rice export prices, the value of Thai rice exports to China in 2024 is still expected to increase from $311 million in 2023 to $347 million, an increase of 12%.
