City Of São Paulo Has The Most Polluted Air In The World This Wednesday

Dry weather and a layer of pollution cover the sky in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on the morning of September 11, 2024. Sao Paulo wakes up with worrying levels of air pollution, placing it, for the third consecutive day, at the top of the ranking of metropolises with the worst air quality in the world, according to the Swiss company IQAir, which monitors one hundred cities in real time. At 8:30 am, the Air Quality Index is at 179, considered ''unhealthy.'' Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, comes in second place, with 155; followed by Karachi, in Pakistan, with 153.
