Yuanwang 1 Space Merit Ship
The Yuanwang 1 space merit ship is moored to visitors at the former site of Jiangnan Shipyard on the Huangpu River in Shanghai, China, on September 7, 2024. As the first generation comprehensive space ocean survey ship independently developed and designed by the 708 Research Institute under China State Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, it successfully completes 57 major national scientific research and test missions such as long-range launch vehicles, weather satellites, and manned spacecraft, making great contributions to the country and the nation. After decommissioning in 2010, it is permanently parked at its birthplace as a memorial.
