Unions Protest Against Meloni's Security Bill And Accuse Of “eliminating Freedoms”

The CGIL and UIL unions, two of the main unions in the country, protest in Rome, Italy, on September 25, 2024, against a bill by the far-right Giorgia Meloni government that criminalizes peaceful resistance, which they believe seeks to eliminate freedom and the right to express dissent. The protest brings together several hundred people in the center of the Italian capital. Giuseppe Conte, member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies (Five Star Movement), speaks to the media during a demonstration against the new security bill (DDL). (Photo by Andrea Ronchini/NurPhoto)
