Tolls Generate 3.6 Million Euros Per Day For Concessionaires

Cars drive near the 25 de Abril bridge in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 29, 2024. Data from the Portuguese Association of Highway Concessionaire Companies (APCAP) shows that the highway network length remains unchanged last year (3,321.9 kilometers). However, average daily traffic increases again, generating an average of about 3.6 million euros per day. The largest share of this revenue belongs to Brisa, which collects 55% of the toll revenues. The company, which operates the largest road network in the country and has an average of nearly 25,000 vehicles per day, earns 750 million euros. Lusoponte follows in second place, with 650 million euros. (Photo by Luis Boza/NurPhoto via Getty Images) (Photo by Luis Boza/NurPhoto)
