NY: UN Security Council Meeting On Migration

Fergus Eckersley, Minister Counsellor, at the Security Council meeting on the situation in Libya and Robert A. Representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) reported that while migration is decreasing in certain areas in the Mediterranean:an increase of Sudanese migrants crossing from Lybia to Europe is at an increase. UNHCR is urging affected states to combat human trafficking while offering humanitarian assistance and make provisions for migrant documntation for residency and work permits.
