The NYPD Crime Scene Unit canvasses the area outside a senior center where 40-year-old Kavon Reid collapses after he is shot in Bronx, New York, on October 2, 2024. On Wednesday afternoon, at approximately 1:47 p.m., Kavon Reid is shot on East 198th Street and Pond Place. The NYPD responds to East 198th Street and Bainbridge Avenue where the victim collapses. Police officers discover 40-year-old Kavon Reid unconscious and unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg. EMS responds and transports the victim to the hospital where he is pronounced dead. There are no suspects in custody.
