The Long-term Impact Of Genocide On Human Lives
A total of 152 indigenous Rohingya people, including 70 men, 62 women, and children, including 20 babies, from Myanmar are stranded again and enter the Indonesian community settlement in Pantai Labu Pekan Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, on October 24, 2024. As the United Nations Refugees data explains, several of the over 965,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh flee from the camp and arrive on the Aceh and North Sumatra coast as illegal refugees. In August 2017, over 750,000 Rohingya flee to Bangladesh following violent military crackdowns in Myanmar's Rakhine State. (Photo by Sutanta Aditya/NurPhoto)
