Security Tightened Across Kashmir After Repeated Militant Attack
An Indian security personnel guards along a road in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on October 25, 2024. Security is increased across Kashmir following an uptick in militant attacks. Militants ambush an army vehicle in the Gulmarg area of north Kashmir last evening, resulting in the deaths of nearly three army soldiers and two army porters. At least six migrant workers and a doctor are shot dead in another attack in Kashmir this week when militants open fire near a tunnel construction site. Multiple search operations are launched at several locations, especially in Ganderbal district and the surrounding areas of Gulmarg, to apprehend the attackers. Security is also on high alert in other areas, particularly where there are higher concentrations of migrant or non-local workers, to ensure their safety. (Photo by Firdous Nazir/NurPhoto)
