The New Digital Planetarium
A massive fish eye lens partly covered with tape in order to project only in a 175 degrees dome. The New Digital Planetarium of Eugenidis Foundation in Athens. The New Digital Planetarium is amphitheatrical, with a dome screen 25 metres in diameter and its floor is angled at 23.5 degrees. The projection surface of the dome screen, totalling 950m2, covering an area the size of two basketball courts. The Planetarium is fully adapted to the latest developments in audiovisual shows, balancing digital technology with modern analog film projection.
