Wild Golden Jackal (Canis Aureus) Resting In The Forest - Animal India
Three wild Golden Jackals (Canis aureus) rest in a dense forest in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on October 26, 2024. Occasionally, they get up and curiously sniff the air. The Golden Jackal, the largest of the jackal species, resembles a small wolf with a slender build, shorter legs, and a shorter tail. Habitat loss due to urbanization and scarcity of food and shelter have significantly reduced their natural habitat. As omnivores, Golden Jackals consume a variety of food sources, including plants, animals, and fungi. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
