Baltimore, Maryland — On Saturday, April 23, in the basement of the historical Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ, closed off tunnels that were part of the Underground Railroad. Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ was a stop on the Underground Railroad with a tunnels still existing underneath the church that slaves used secretly to run to a train station down the street for their freedom.
