A lady lights oil lamps at the riverside of the Ganges in Kolkata, India, on November 15, 2024, during the Dev Deepavali celebration in the city. Dev Deepavali, or Diwali of the Gods, is a Hindu festival celebrated on the full moon night of the Bengali month of Karthik, 15 days after Diwali. It is believed that on this day, Gods come down to earth to celebrate and bathe in the Ganga River. Devotees light oil lamps on the Ganges riversides to honor the river and its residing Goddess.
