Employees Of The Bayard Press And Publishing Group On Strike In Paris

Employees of the Bayard Press and Publishing Group went on strike in Paris on November 28, 2024, to protest the appointment of Alban du Rostu as Director of Strategy and Group Development. Alban du Rostu is the former right-hand man of billionaire Pierre-Edouard Sterin, a fervent Catholic, libertarian, and tax exile. Sterin, a conservative businessman, is considered close to the National Rally party. The unions have expressed concern about the potential impact of du Rostu's appointment, given his association with Pierre-Edouard Sterin, on the group's editorial direction.
