Air Quality Drops In Colombo, Sri Lanka

A foreigner takes a photograph of the city of Colombo amid smog and rain from Lotus Tower in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on November 30, 2024. Sri Lanka's Central Environment Authority (CEA) and the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) state that air quality in Sri Lanka worsens today, November 30, due to the influence of Cyclonic Storm ''FENGAL'' over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. The drop in air quality is caused by the entry of air pollutants from the North and transboundary air pollution caused by adverse weather conditions, the CEA says, and the Air Quality Index in Colombo is expected to be around 116.
