Fatal Police Involved Shooting Kills Man And Injures Woman In Crown Heights Section Of Brooklyn New York
The suspect wanted for a homicide is identified as a man who is dead after NYPD officers shoot him multiple times and kill him after he points a gun at officers in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York, United States, on December 5, 2024. At approximately 2:57 pm, there is a Shotspotter activation near the Whitman Houses. Officers respond to that location, and a witness gives a description of a vehicle. The vehicle is located, and a pursuit begins. At some point, the vehicle becomes aware it is being followed and ends on Utica Avenue and Park Place when it gets caught in traffic. During the encounter, police officers shoot at the male driver, who is wanted for a murder since March, when he points a gun at them. The man is pronounced dead.
