People Gather For Notre-Dame De Paris Cathedral Official Reopening Ceremony
The French military of the Sentinelle Operation patrols through the security perimeter around the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, ahead of its official reopening ceremony after more than five years of reconstruction work following the April 2019 fire, in Paris, France, on December 7, 2024. Notre-Dame Cathedral is set to reopen in early December 2024, with a weekend of ceremonies on December 7 and 8, 2024, five years after the 2019 fire that ravaged the world heritage landmark and toppled its spire. Approximately 250 companies and hundreds of experts are mobilized for the five-year restoration costing hundreds of millions of euros. (Photo by Michel Stoupak/NurPhoto)
