First Malaysian Electric Car
The first Malaysian electric car, the Proton EMas-7, is on display during a launching ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on December 16, 2024. The e.MAS 7, produced by Malaysian automaker Proton and backed by Chinese automotive giant Geely, is manufactured at Proton's plant in Tanjung Malim, Perak. Proton EMas-7 launches with two options: the Prime variant is priced at MYR 109,800 (24,661 USD) and the Premium variant is MYR 123,800 (27,805 USD) on the road, excluding insurance.
