President Carter Lies In State At US Capitol As Americans Pay Respects
People line the streets to view the casket of the 39 President of the United States as he lies in State at the Capitol Rotunda on January 8, 2025 in Washington DC. Carter who died at 100 years old on December 29,2024 was the longest living President in history. A memorial service will be held on January 9 at the National Cathedral in Washington followed by a private service in his home town of Plains Georgia where he will be interred next to his wife Rosalynn Carter.
