Relatives Blocked The Shahbag, Dhaka

Relatives block the Shahbag intersection in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on January 9, 2024, to fulfill their three-point demands, including the release and re-investigation of BDR members who are in jail for the Pilkhana murder case. On February 25 and 26, 2009, a mutiny and killings are organized by a group of the then BDRs in Pilkhana, Dhaka. Rebel BDR troops capture the BDR headquarters in Pilkhana and kill BDR Director General Major General Shakeel Ahmed along with 57 other army officers and 17 civilians.
