Through an audio circulating on social networks, Jose Mujica, former president of Uruguay, announces on January 9, 2025, the extent of the cancer he suffers from and that he will not continue with the treatment, asking to die in peace. The former president of Uruguay, 89 years old, also states that he does not want to continue with the treatment because he is an ''old man,'' he has two chronic diseases, and his body can no longer take it. In the images, Jose Mujica visits Mexico in 2016, where he presents his book ''Una oveja al poder'' at the Vasconcelos Library in Mexico City, Mexico, and in 2019, he accompanies the first report of the then president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, in the capital's Zocalo.
