Members of the military honor guard carry the remains of Jimmy Carter the 39th President of the United States from the US Capitol Rotunda following three days of public visitation on January 9, 2025 in Washington DC. Carter who died at 100 years old on December 29,2024 was the longest living President in history. The journey to his home town of Plains Georgia where he will be interred next to his wife Rosalynn Carter, will begin following a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington.
