Drones Inspect Transmission Line in Yinchuan

State Grid workers at the 110 kV Shayong Line No. 4 pole tower use drone flaw detection technology for the first time to carry out X-ray detection of transmission lines in Yinchuan, China, on January 9, 2025. X-ray inspection uses X-rays through metal materials, forming an image on the negative to determine the internal defects of metal. In this operation, two UAVs are equipped with reflectors and X-ray machines to carry out flaw detection tests. (Photo by Costfoto/NurPhoto)
