3rd ASEAN Literary Festival 2016

Asean Literary Festival Organization open it's 3rd festival at Tama Ismail Marzuki Theater. The event was opened with keynote speach from 2nd Former Timor Leste President : RAMOS HORTA. The event got strong rejection from some of muslim organization that want the police to dismiss the event, but Art Jakarta Organization demanding for the continue of the event and stated that the police and muslim reason to dismiss the event is "a misleading act" to prevent from open speach as part of democartion. The ASEAN literary festival is a cultural event where all ASEAN countries can share in proximity, familiarities in culture literary interests often influenced by the colonial experience. The festival presents ASEAN's poets, novelists, playwrights, critics, scholars, and artist who perform, share, and discuss the role of literature in the culture which will help the member countries to foster a just society, encouraging human rights and democracy (Photo by Donal Husni/NurPhoto)
