Protest At Belarus And Embassy In Warsaw
People take part in a protest against the detainment of political prisoners by the Lukashenko regime in front of the embassy of Belarus in Warsaw, Poland on 26 January, 2025. Belarus holds one of the largest populations of political prisoners in the world. Since protests against sham elections started in 2020 some 1500 people have been imprisoned on political charges and five have died in prisons. In 2024 alone nearly 9000 cases of political persecution have been documented in Belarus. (Photo by Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto)
