In Rome, Italy, on January 29, 2025, a USB union protest takes place in Piazza Santi' Apostoli in front of the prefecture following the death of an asylum seeker. On the night of Tuesday, January 28, an elderly asylum seeker dies while waiting in line in front of the Police Headquarters' Foreigners Office in Via Patini, Rome. According to witnesses, he had been in line since 10 a.m. because the Police Headquarters only allows a few people each day to enter and apply for asylum, while others are turned away.
