A Memorial Honors The 67 Victims Of The Tragic Mid-air Collision

A makeshift memorial, created by artist Roberto Marquez, stands near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, on February 1, 2025. The memorial honors the 67 victims of the mid-air collision that occurs on the evening of January 29, 2025. An American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, collides midair with a military Black Hawk helicopter while on approach to the airport. According to reports, there are no survivors among the 67 people aboard both aircraft. Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) work to determine the cause of the collision. (Photo by Probal Rashid/NurPhoto)
