Dendera Temple
Dendera Temple in Qena, Egypt, on February 1, 2025, is one of the best-preserved ancient Egyptian temples. Located on the west bank of the Nile, it dates back to the Ptolemaic period, though some parts are older. The temple is renowned for its decorated columns and intricate carvings, especially the grand hypostyle hall with its ceiling adorned with detailed astronomical scenes, including one of the oldest known celestial maps. Dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the deity of love, beauty, and motherhood, the temple serves as a major religious center and hosts grand processions and celebrations. (Photo by Doaa Adel/NurPhoto)
