Month-Long Madhavnarayan Festival Ends Today
Devotees perform a religious ritual on the last day of Shree Swasthani Brata Katha, a month-long festival dedicated to Goddess Swasthani and God Madhav Narayan. During the month-long storytelling ritual, the stories of Goddess Swasthani, God Shiva, and other gods are narrated while the devotees recite holy scripture and pray for the well-being of their spouses. The rituals associated with the Swasthani Katha take place on the banks of rivers in various Hindu shrines across the country. (Photo by Amit Machamasi/NurPhoto)
