Students In Nepal Protest Demanding Justice For Deceased Colleague In KIIT, Odisha, India
Affiliates of Nepal's All Nepal National Independent Students' Union protest in Kathmandu, Nepal, demanding justice for Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal, who takes her life at the hostel of KIIT Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India. A third-year B. Tech student from Nepal ends her life by hanging in her hostel room following a suspected strained relationship with another male student from KIIT on February 16. Following the death, students, particularly of Nepali origin, take to the streets demanding the arrest of the boy responsible for abusing the girl, leading to her suicide.
